Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) is set to introduce an online platform for Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) starting in the 2025-26 academic year. This initiative aims to streamline the process of creating, managing, and accessing IEPs for students with special needs, making it more efficient for educators, parents, and students alike.
The transition to a digital format is expected to enhance communication among all stakeholders involved in a student's education. Parents will have easier access to their child's IEPs, allowing them to stay informed about goals, accommodations, and progress. Additionally, teachers will benefit from a centralized system that simplifies the planning and implementation of individualized instruction.
FCPS officials believe that this modernization will not only improve the overall educational experience for students with disabilities but also foster greater collaboration between families and schools. As the district prepares for this significant change, training sessions will be held to ensure that staff are well-equipped to utilize the new online system effectively.
